What is near Marina Bay Sands
Most things to do near Marina Bay Sands are outdoors and around the water. Merlion Park, the Helix Bridge, the Esplanade and Marina Barrage cost nothing to enter. The Singapore Flyer is the main paid sight outside the resort. Inside the resort area you also have the ArtScience Museum, Gardens by the Bay and the evening Spectra show, each with its own page on this site.
If you would rather see the bay from the water, a Singapore River cruise passes Boat Quay, Clarke Quay and Marina Bay in about 40 minutes.

The sights in detail
What to expect at each stop.
Merlion Park
The Merlion fountain stands at 1 Fullerton Road. The statue is 8.6 m tall and weighs 70 tonnes, and it was unveiled on 15 September 1972. The park is free and open 24 hours a day. The nearest MRT station is Raffles Place (NS26/EW14). The Marina Bay Sands towers rise behind the statue, which makes it a popular photo spot.
Helix Bridge
This pedestrian bridge near Bayfront is shaped like a DNA double helix. It has viewing platforms and is roughly 280 m long. It is lit in the evening, so it works well for a walk after dinner. Check for any closures before you go.
Esplanade
The theatre and concert complex is at 1 Esplanade Drive. Visitor areas open daily from 08:00 to 23:30, or until 30 minutes after the last performance if that is later. Tickets for shows and entry to individual halls are separate.
Singapore Flyer
The observation wheel is at 30 Raffles Avenue. The standard ticket costs SGD 46 for adults and SGD 28 for children aged 3 to 12 in 2026. Eligible resident seniors aged 60 and over pay SGD 28. It opens daily, including public holidays, from 10:00 to 22:00, with last entry at 21:30. A normal visit needs no timed reservation, but premium offers have their own booking.
Marina Barrage
The public areas and the Green Roof are open around the clock, except special facilities. The site is smoke-free, and alcohol and fireworks are not allowed. The Sustainable Singapore Gallery opens 09:00 to 18:00, closes for lunch from 12:00 to 13:00 and is closed on Tuesdays. Reach the Barrage by bus 400 or from Gardens by the Bay MRT on the Thomson-East Coast Line. Bayfront is not the only way in.
Otters and other wildlife
Otters live along the waterways, but no sighting is guaranteed. If you meet them, keep your distance. Do not touch, chase or surround them, especially when pups are present. Use no flash, do not feed any wildlife, and keep dogs on a short lead.
Water and safety around the bay
Marina Bay is for looking, not swimming.
Marina Bay is not a swimming spot. The Infinity Pool is a separate matter: it is for registered hotel guests only and has its own rules. See the Infinity Pool page for who can use it. Marina Barrage is classed as a catchment area park, so follow the signs on site.
Nearby, the resort has more to offer than the sights above. Read about the Spectra light show for evening times, or the getting there guide for routes by MRT, taxi and car.
